• Your module will be organised in sections represented as topics or weeks. Typically these will be presented in a collapsed format to provide you with a quick overview of module content. Select a section name to open the section and review the content. Alternatively select Open all to open all sections.

• Content is delivered in the form of Resources and Activities.
  • Resources are your course content which can be delivered in a variety of formats including word docs, PDFs, PowerPoint, web pages, and links to external websites. Lecturers provide resources on Moodle to increase opportunities for you to review and revise module content and help you to structure your study-time outside of your face-to-face taught sessions.
  • Activities increase opportunities for you to participate in the module online and to connect with your peers Your Lecturer may require you to submit an Assignment online, undertake a Quiz, participate in a discussion Forum, contribute to a Glossary or Database or collaborate on a wiki.
• Moodle has a module menu in the top navigation bar that lets you jump to a particular section of a module without scrolling through the whole module.
• Moodle leaves a breadcrumb trail for you to trace back as you move between content.
  • Selecting the home iconwill take you to your My Moodle homepage.
  • The second element of the breadcrumb is the short module code. Selectthis to get to the homepage of the module.
  • The next element refers to the section you are viewing or the activity type. In the image below this is theCommunicating with your classmates and lecturers section and selectingthis linkwould return you to the section in the module. The rest of the breadcrumb trail refers to the name of the Forum (Practice Forum) and the discussion topic opened within this Forum (Hello)

Some modules require you to self-enrol, rather than being enrolled automatically.

• Locate the module in question. The link to the module may be sent to you by a course officer or another staff member
• Select the Enrol me button.
• You may be asked for an enrolment key. Tthis should have been provided to you already
• If no key is needed, you will return to the module and see confirmation.
