If you’re a Revolut user and you’ll be spending time in the US soon, it could be useful to know if you can use the money app there. Or perhaps you’re planning a move to the US, and like the idea of being able to use Revolut instead of a bank.
Whichever is the case, you’re in luck. Revolut does work in the US, and we’ll cover everything you need to know about it here in this guide.

But for now, let’s focus on Revolut in the USA.
How does Revolut work in the US?
Revolut US launched back in 2020, and it works in pretty much the same way as in the UK.
Once you sign up for an account, you can choose a plan and start sending and requesting money through the Revolut mobile app. You’ll also get a Revolut card, which can be used in the US, UK and in countries all over the world.
An important thing to note about signing up for Revolut in the US is that there are unlimited fee-free ATM withdrawals available at its network of 55,000 ATMs.
Revolut US plans and pricing
If you’re signing up to Revolut in the US, you’ll have three plans to choose from²:
- Standard - free
- Premium - $9.99 a month
- Metal - $16.99 a month.
This is one fewer than in the UK, where there’s also a Plus plan available as the next tier up from the free Standard plan.
Each plan comes with a debit card, but you get more perks and benefits when you upgrade to a more expensive monthly package.
For example, with a Premium account you’ll get unlimited no fee currency exchange, everyday purchase protection and 24/7 priority customer support². This is lots more than the features available with the basic free plan.
Using your UK Revolut account in the US
If you opened your Revolut account in the UK, can you use it in the US? The simple answer is yes.
You can use the app to send and receive money, and use your Revolut card to spend while overseas.
However, as a UK customer on a standard plan, you may be limited to just £200 a month in ATM withdrawals. Take out more than this (or carry out more than 5 transactions in a month) and you could pay a fee of 2%³ according to Revolut UK pricing.
