“ | This is my remake of a level long forgotten by many which ended up verified by Eiruni - Satanic Clubstep. Over four years in the making. | ” |

Diabolic ClubStep is a 2.1 unrated solo Extreme Demon created, verified, and published by Sevant on September 1, 2021.[1] It is a remake of a 1.9 impossible level known as Satanic Clubstep, created by IIIspitfireIII. The remake features altered gameplay and 2.1-style decoration while still aiming to keep the atmosphere and color scheme of the original level. The level is estimated to place somewhere in the Top 10 on the Demonlist if rated, as many consider it to be harder than Tartarus.
Sevant started attempting to verify his version of Satanic Clubstep in April 2017, making significant progress that year. When eiruni became the first victor of the original Satanic Clubstep on May 16, 2020, Sevant made constant buffs to his version and decoration updates to set his version apart from the original. On September 1, 2021, Sevant verified the level after roughly 171,000 attempts.[2]
On May 5, 2022, Sevant announced on his YouTube channel that he plans to update the decoration of the level and buff the second half slightly, which would require the level to be re-verified.[3] Sevant finished and showcased the updated version on August 5, 2022. According to Sevant, the new version is expected to be slightly harder but around the same difficulty as the old version, although the version showcased was Top 1 in difficulty.[4]
Gameplay[]
- 0-5%: The level begins with a short cube section where the player must jump over some spikes and go through a Clubstep monster. The gameplay is difficult to see because the level begins completely dark and slowly brightens. The player then enters a short ship section containing some gravity portals before they become a cube again.
- 6-13%: The next cube section begins with three blue orb lines, with a long one above and below the player and a short one in the middle. The player should hit the top line first and alternate between the bottom and the middle lines, ending with hitting the pink orb near the top line. Following this is a long cube memory segment featuring many orb timings.
- 14-22%: The player then enters a long maze-like segment similar to that of Tartarus and Hard Machine. Many yellow- and blue pads are spread out in different directions, complicating the segment, including nearly invisible objects. The player, as a cube, must find their way to the top of the maze using the blue pads to their advantage. After the player arrives at the top, they must jump over some invisible obstacles before entering the drop of the level.
- 23-32%: The drop begins with a long and tight wave and mini-wave section where different arrangements of spike pillars create a narrow passageway for the player around the middle, similar to the first wave section of Cataclysm. The part is confusing due to invisible speed changes and size changes throughout the section.
- 33-41%: After the player leaves the wave section, they enter a mini-cube section consisting of many orb timings. Then, they go into a short ship section with two gravity portals. There is a fake-out at the end of the ship, as the player must go slightly downward after going through the blue gravity portal, which appears to go into a wall at first glance. After they emerge from the wall, they become a mini-cube again and have some orbs to hit. A blue orb spam segment ends the part.
- 42-51%: The player then enters a mini-ball section containing many orbs where the player must hit many specific ones, making the section slightly memory-based. The timings are very tight here as most structures are sloped, and the gameplay is hard to see in some places. The end of the section contains some structures with orbs inside of them. The player then enters a ship section and must perform a straight-fly involving two orb timings quickly afterward.
- 52-58%: This part begins with a UFO section containing orbs and gravity portals. Following is a mini-cube memory gameplay segment.
- 59-61%: The gameplay slows down briefly as the player enters a slow and hard-to-see ship section. Here, the player must carefully avoid saw-blades.
- 62-70%: The gameplay then speeds up again, starting with a tight triple-speed mini-wave that becomes a mini-ship section where the player must go through some Clubstep monsters.
- 71-79%: As the gameplay slows down again, the player enters a mini-cube section with spikes and fake ground that the player falls through to progress. After falling upward, the player enters a ship section involving a straight-fly with orbs the player must avoid. A slow ball section followed by a slow UFO section is next, with a quadruple-spike ending the part.
- 80-88%: After the player exits the cube section, they enter a long double-speed wave section consisting of diamond-shaped and triangular-shaped obstacles and saw-blades. The gameplay of this section is similar to that of a Nine Circles level. There is a short ship straight-fly segment afterward.
- 89-100%: The player then exits into a memory-based cube section containing many orbs. After hitting a UFO portal, the player must quickly spam upwards and go into a long ship section. The level ends with a few orb timings inside gravity portals and a tight ship passage with some spikes.
