The Cutlass is a rare Hardmode sword that has a 0.5*1/200 (0.5%) chance to be dropped by Pirate enemies in a Pirate Invasion. It has a higher chance to drop from Pirate Captains and the Flying Dutchman (2% and 10% respectively). The Cutlass deals good damage and can be swung continuously at very high speed.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Notes[]
- Assuming the player never kills a Pirate Captain or Flying Dutchman, the odds of getting at least one Cutlass over the course of a Pirate Invasion are about 45%.
Trivia[]
It has a dark outline and transparent pixels in its blade, so it looks deformed against dark backgrounds.- It resembles a scimitar rather than a cutlass.
- Terraria does have a scimitar in the game dropped by the Dye Trader, the Exotic Scimitar, which resembles the Cutlass.
- It may be a reference to Zulfiqar, the legendary sword owned by Ali, due to its forked design.
- It can almost be considered an upgrade of theFalcon Blade, sharing many of the same features, pros and cons, as well as the similar designs.
