The import and export of foreign currency is not limited. Import of national currency is limited to the amount of 25 thousand NOK. Import of larger amounts must be accompanied by a special customs declaration. There are no restrictions on traveler's checks.

The question of how much alcohol can be brought into Norway is of interest to many vacationers. Up to 2 liters of beer, up to 1 liter of spirits (up to 60%), up to 1 liter of wine (up to 22%), or up to 2 liters of wine if no spirits are imported are duty-free.

In addition, for items brought into Norway by airplane, up to 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco (provided the importing person is over the age of 18) are allowed. Importation of hard liquor is allowed only for persons who have reached 20 years of age, while beer and wine can be imported by individuals at least 18 years of age. There are no separate rules on how much alcohol can be taken out of Norway; customs will be guided by the import rules.

You can only get a VAT refund on goods that you export from Norway. VAT refunds do not apply to food and services that you have used in the country itself.

Before you leave Norway, contact any of Global Blue's offices, where you'll need to present your Tax Free receipts, passport or other ID and the goods you bought. For example, there's an office at Oslo Airport.
