Cursed (CursedZ in-game) is a skilled British player in Geometry Dash. He is considered one of the most consistent players in the game.

Cursed has completed several of the hardest levels on the Demonlist, such as Abyss of Darkness, Slaughterhouse, Sakupen Circles, KOCMOC, Firework, LIMBO and arcturus.

On 10 April 2023, he completed VSC (the current hardest challenge in the game). He has also verified many difficult challenges such as Apotheosis, Determination Dance and I Cry. He also beat other challenges such as Falling Illusion, SADOMASOCHISM, 3SH in Hell, Murder Mitten, Viridescent, cooks, Lost Sense, Toxic Blades and Im Deaf (the last mentioned featuring the wave from 66-71% in Sakupen Circles four times in a row).

History[]

Cursed's first YouTube account (where he uploaded his earliest Extreme Demon completions) was originally owned by keshi (who uploaded videos on it playing the game Black Ops 2). Keshi then gave the channel to Cursed. An argument between the two soon emerged, leading keshi to take the channel down.

On 10 November 2020, Cursed would upload a series of his old Extreme Demon- (some now Insane Demons) completions to a new channel, orderly Cataclysm,^[1] ICE Carbon Diablo X,^[2] Spectral Tentation^[3] and the two first levels in the Ocular Miracle trilogy, (Reverie and Faith).^[4][5] The next day, he would upload completions of reverence,^[6] Annihilation Nation^[7] and Bloodbath.^[8]

After this, he would start uploading completions of challenges, his first upload of a challenge completion being on 13 November 2020, when he completed Denouement by Synactive,^[9] for which he also used 60FPS.

He uploaded several more videos of his old level completions on 13 November 2020, the three most notable being ZAPHKIEL^[10], Catabath^[11] (unrated Extreme Demon combining old Cataclysm and Bloodbath into one level) and Hyper Paradox.^[12]

His first progress video on Sakupen Circles was uploaded on 27 December 2020, in which he completed a run of 66-100%.^[13] His second came on 22 May 2021, in which he achieved 56%, a world record back then.^[14]

He was the former verifier of Sakupen Circles, on which he achieved a best of 70% and a run of 36-100%. He would eventually drop the verification and give it to Diamond, who verified it on 30 December 2021. After Diamond verified the level, Cursed would return to it to try beating it, which he did on 6 January 2022, in 195,627 attempts, becoming the first victor of the level.^[15]

After being banned on the Demonlist for a while due to formerly hacking levels, he was unbanned on 31 January 2022. Although, he remains banned on the in-game Global Leaderboards.

On 26 March 2022, Cursed achieved a record of 95% on Abyss of Darkness,^[16] tying with Trick for the level's second-best achievement at the time, behind that of Dils Thik, who had achieved 98%.

Following an intense race with Trick, Cursed verified Exen's Extreme Demon mega-collaboration Abyss of Darkness on 3 April 2022, after 54,315 attempts,^[17] before which Trick had achieved a best of 95% on the level.

On 16 April 2022, he also beat what was, at the time, the Top 1 level on the Demonlist, Slaughterhouse,^[18] after having crashed at 95% (the last jump) earlier that day.

On 21 April 2022, he beat Firework.^[19]

Cursed was attempting to verify a rebuffed and rebalanced version of Zynvire's remake of Silent Circles after the level was controversially nerfed down to Top 40-difficulty on the Demonlist, according to nerfed version's verifier, Xanii. This version was set to be Top 1-5-difficulty. He achieved 48% on the level on 29 April 2022.^[20]

Cursed was the verifier of the Top 1-difficulty level Eternal Night, on which he has currently achieved runs of 76-100% and 63-95% on his own buffed version on 18-19 June 2022. Cursed's version is also harder than that of swiborg, the former verifier of the level. Cursed has stated that it will be his final hardest achievement in the game, and he will make the level as difficult as he can. Since then, he has been replaced by swiborg as the verifier.

On 23 July 2022, he supposedly became the first victor of the official nerfed version of Silent clubstep, believing it to be #5 in difficulty on the Demonlist.^[21] However, he discovered that he accidentally toggled the Hitbox Multiplier hack in MegaHack to 0.9x during the attempt of this supposed completion, so he unlisted the video. Afterwards, he was banned from Pointercrate.

On 16 August 2022, he rebeat Sakupen Circles in Full Detail, meaning he has beaten the level twice, once with Low Detail and once with Full Detail.

He verified IcEDCave's Top-50-difficulty level SUPERHATEMEWORLD on 30 September 2022.^[22]

He was previously trying to beat Acheron, on which he has achieved a best of 61% and a run of 36-100%.^[23][24]

He is currently working on two new verification projects. One of them is Deimos by ItsHybrid, the official sequel to Phobos, on which he has achieved runs of 55-100%^[25] and 23-88%. The other is a new project by Vernam and Cherry Team titled A.G.I.T.E, on which Cursed has only achieved 7% and 84-100%. Currently, this level is deemed impossible. Cursed has since dropped Deimos because he said he did not have the time or motivation.

On 19 October 2022, he stated interest in verifying APTeam's redecorated version of the old impossible level Exasperation.

He beat LIMBO on 23 December 2022, being his first Top 10 completion since Hard Machine. Later, on 10 February 2023, he became the first victor of UNKNOWN. On 11 April 2023, he beat VSC as his new hardest challenge, becoming the sixth victor.

He got unbanned from Pointercrate on 24 April 2023, following the Silent clubstep incident.

Conflicts[]

Former hacker[]

• In late 2019, keshi would expose Cursed for hacking Bloodlust, Silent Club and Arctic Lights. He would then get banned from Pointercrate but later unbanned on 31 January 2022.

Silent clubstep incident[]

• On 23 July 2022, Cursed supposedly became the first victor of Silent clubstep after 'nearly dying at 34% and 74%'. After about a week, Cursed would announce he unintentionally hacked the completion by accidentally activating a Hitbox Multiplier hack. However, since there was no evidence whether this was true, he would receive an 18-month ban on Pointercrate. He then stated he would not be playing for 18 months anyway. Therefore, he made the ban permanent. He also stated he would play on the 'Russian Demonlist'. However, on 19 October 2022, someone made an anti-exposure video on him. On 24 April 2023, he was unbanned. In light of spaceuk's hacking, it also makes Cursed ranked as the best British player.

YouTube account hacking[]

• On 10 August 2022, his account was hacked by an unknown third party, presumably due to an ongoing scam that caused the loss of people's YouTube account details. It is similar to the scams involving DanZmeN and Dorami, eventually resolved days prior.

Verified levels[]

• Abyss of Darkness - An Extreme Demon mega-collaboration that was formerly #1 on the Demonlist. A decoration update was hosted by CDMusic to ensure the level was rate-worthy if it was verified. The level was verified by Cursed on 3 April 2022.
• Action - A former Top 20 difficulty challenge level created by Fwin. The level was verified by Cursed on 29 November 2020 in 17,904 attempts.
• Apotheosis - A former Top 10-difficulty hell-themed challenge created by El3cTr0.
• Cobwebs- A 30-second-long spider web-themed Extreme Demon collaboration by NineDice and Taika. It was previously supposed to place within the Top 10 on the Demonlist but was nerfed. Its final difficulty is unknown.

Upcoming levels[]

• A.G.I.T.E - A level inspired by the old Top 1-difficulty layout by Vernam, now being decorated by Cherry Team. According to Cursed, it will be verified around mid-2025.
• Deimos (ItsHybrid) - An upcoming Top 1-3-difficulty Extreme Demon that is the official sequel to Phobos.
• Exasperation - A redecorated version of the old impossible level of the same name. The redecoration was created by APTeam.
• Eternal Night - A solo Top 1-difficulty Demon created by El3cTr0. It was previously set to be verified by swiborg until he dropped it and gave it to Cursed.

• He had been banned on the Demonlist for a long time until he finally got unbanned on 31 January 2022.
  • American player Dr. Joe was also unbanned on the Demonlist on the same day.
• Instead of using a mouse to play Geometry Dash, he uses his up-arrow key and spacebar and often hits either one very loudly.
• The Geometry Dash commentary YouTuber 'EchoGD' uploaded a video about Cursed called 'The History of Cursed (Abyss Of Darkness Verifier) | Geometry Dash', in which he talks about Cursed's appearance in the game and his subsequent rise in skill and popularity.^[62]
