Appearance[]
The Crystal Golem (in Shadow form) is made up of pink and purple crystals and has white eyes. It has pink feet, each with 2 purple claws. The top half of its jaw is pink, and the bottom half is purple. When attacking, it lifts its front legs and opens its mouth. Before a battle, the player sees the Crystal Golem as a mound of crystals. As soon as the player gets closer to it, however, the crystals rise into the form of the Crystal Golem.
The Crystal Golem changes color when it changes elements. It also has some "decorations" put on to match the element, such as bit of coral, or tree vines. The Crystal Golem also seems to have its crystals fall after it casts an area spell or after the player casts a spell of an element it's weak against. It seems that when this happens, it means that either the player can fight the Crystal Golem without it attacking the player, or the Crystal Golem is out of health. The Crystal Golem "wakes up" after the player attacks it after it collapsed, and after being attacked it changes into a random element (except for the Astral Element) which is different for everybody.
When the Crystal Golem is in its Plant form, it is dark green & lime green with plants & vines. When it's in its Storm form, it is gray & gold/yellow, with occasional bits of lightning coming out of it. When it is in its Water form, it is dark & light blue with starfish & shells. When it's in its Fire form, it's vermillion with molten lava-type crystals. And, when it's in its Ice form, it is purple & light blue with snow. The player can find more about the looks down below in the gallery. After it has collapsed, it changes back to the Shadow form after its next turn.

Tactics[]
If the player uses any element besides Astral, it'll copy the element used against it to become neutral to it. The player can "trick" it into copying a specific element, then switch to a Spell or Pet which has a stronger element. Using a stronger element will trigger the collapsing animation, and the player will be able to attack again without worrying about damage. After attacking it again, it'll rise again, heading back to its Shadow form. Repeat this process until it's defeated. Remember to eat something if the player's health gets too low, not having all of a team's available spells ruins this tactic.
Others prefer to simply attack until it's defeated. If the player does this, the Crystal Golem won't collapse until it receives a certain amount of damage, and the player may wind up diminishing their team's health quickly, causing them to need a good collection of Food.
Trivia[]
- Besides Mira Shade, it is the only boss capable of changing elements.
- According to the Crystal Caverns Livestream, this was the hardest boss to make in Crystal Caverns.
- When the Crystal Golem collapses, it will not attack for one turn, giving the player an extra turn.
- There was a glitch, where if the player uses an All Out Attack as the first move, the Crystal Golem doesn't go through its attack animation. Instead, it just says, "Crystal Golem used [a move]", nothing happens, and the player's spellbook doesn't pop up, soft locking the game and forcing a refresh.
- The only elements it is not capable of using are the Astral, Physical, and Neutral elements.
- In previous versions, if the player used an area attack, the attack will have three damage marks and deal triple the damage. This feature was intentionally implimented by the developers.
