Submit an ID for verification
Often, your legal name and address and/or other personal information are enough for us to verify your identity. We may also ask you to provide a copy of your government ID that includes a photo of you.
What if my Airbnb host won't answer? ›
Get help from Airbnb to resolve the issue
If your Host is unable to resolve the issue, doesn't respond at all, or declines your refund request, just let us know, click or tap Get Help from the reservation page. Someone from our team will step in to help resolve the issue.
How do I respond to a response on Airbnb? ›
You need to log into your account via a browser (not using the Airbnb app) to respond to a review.
- Tap Profile > Reviews.
- Tap Reviews you've written.
- Go to the review you'd like to respond to and tap Leave public response.
- Write your response and tap Submit.
- Tap Listings and select the listing you want to edit.
- Under Listing editor, tap Your space.
- Tap Amenities.
- Tap + to add amenities or tap Edit to delete amenities.
- Review, and then tap Done.
Make sure the info you provide is valid, accurate and up to date. Otherwise, it could take us longer to verify you, or we might need to follow up and request additional info. If you're a guest making a booking – remember to complete verification by the deadline we provide you.
How do I complete the Airbnb verification process? ›
- Tap Profile and then Switch to hosting.
- Tap Menu and then Listings.
- Tap the listing you want to verify and then Complete required steps.
- In the Publishing checklist, tap Verify your listing.
- Tap Verify another way, then Ask someone else to verify.
- Enter the email address of the person who will help you verify your listing.
If the Host declines your request or lets it expire, you won't be charged and you're free to book a different stay. If you're still interested in booking the Host's place, you can learn more about what to do if your trip request is declined or expires.
What happens if a host doesn't respond in 24 hours? ›
After you submit a booking request, the host has 24 hours to accept or decline. If they don't respond, we'll automatically decline the request for you. If you haven't received a host response, try verifying that: You received an inquiry confirmation email from us.
Are Airbnb hosts penalized for not responding? ›
Taking longer than 24 hours to respond will count as a late response, which will decrease your response rate and increase your response time. Your response rate can impact your listing's position in search results.

In most cases, once a review has been submitted, it cannot be edited or removed by either party. However, Airbnb does have certain policies and mechanisms in place to address exceptional circ*mstances. In these cases, you will have to report the review to Airbnb and wait for the staff to review your request.

Airbnb ID verification may take up to 24 hours. But usually, an Airbnb account can be approved within a few hours. You can also check your verification status in the verification tab of your Profile. And if you have any issues with your Airbnb ID verification, you should contact Airbnb customer service.
