How to see DNS cache in ipconfig? ›

To display the contents of the DNS resolver cache: Type ipconfig /displaydns and press Enter. Observe the contents of the DNS resolver cache.

Turn off both your router & ONT. While they are off, clear your internet cache from all browsers, and close all browsers. Go to command prompt (cmd) run ipconfig /flushdns. Then run ipconfig /release.

To Flush the DNS Cache:

In the address bar, type chrome://net-internals/#dns. Google Chrome displays a list of hosts in its internal DNS cache. Click Clear host cache.

Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left to open the Start menu. Click on “Settings.” Select “Network & internet.” Next to the network's name, click on “Properties”. You'll see the DNS server in the window below.

Type cmd in the Start menu search bar to open Command Prompt. Then click Run as administrator. Enter the command ipconfig/displaydns and hit Enter. You'll see your detailed DNS cache history.

To see your current DNS settings, type ipconfig /displaydns and press Enter. To delete the entries, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter. To see your DNS settings again, type ipconfig /displaydns and press Enter.

Checking DNS records using the command line

The most efficient way to check DNS records of the domain is to use a terminal with the command nslookup. This command will run on almost all operating systems (Windows, Linux, and macOS).
