Collecting Data with the LSV/2 Protocol (2024)

The LSV-2 protocol allows computers and machines to process and interpret 16-bit code for Advanced Technology (AT) computers. This standard was popular in the 1980s and was used for second-generation PCs with a 286 CPU and 16-bit bus.

This capability is crucial for automating equipment with older electronics. • Error Messages: The software allows for the diagnosis of TNC errors for the last 100 events.

LSV-2 is a paid software and must be purchased via a license. Developers cannot share the software across multiple users or systems.

There are two LSV-2 software packages available from Heidenhain. The first is TNC REMOTE, explicitly used for AT-enabled PCs, and the second is LSV/2 TOOLBOX, used for those developing applications in the C programming language.
