Things to do in Copenhagen
If it's your first time flying from the UK to Copenhagen, the central Medieval neighbourhood of Indre By is where you'll spend most of your time. It's full of historic buildings and narrow cobbled alleyways. This is where you'll find the famous Nyhavn: the canal lined with brightly coloured buildings that are on practically every Copenhagen postcard! It's a good place for a refreshing drink in the summer.
Indre By is also home to Copenhagen's biggest and best shopping street: Stroget. It's got a good mix of high-street brands and designer labels, and there are usually lots of street performances going on. But don't be afraid to venture off the main street down some of the smaller paths. There are loads of little boutiques and bars. You'll be surprised at the hidden gems most visitors never stumble across.
You'll also want to spend some time in the neighbouring area of Christianshavn. Located on a small artificial island, this is a place where you won't want to forget your camera. Get snap-happy, taking photos of the cafes on the floating docks and the quaint, colourful houses dotted along Amagergade. It's also possible to climb the 400 steps of the Church of Our Saviour spire for panoramic views of the city.

Taking a Day Trip to Malmö from Copenhagen

It's a short 40-minute train ride, or an even quicker scenic ferry ride, over the Øresund Bridge from the centre of Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Malmö.
