Users can share files and folders in Microsoft SharePoint by sending a link. They should select a link type based on the people to whom they want to give permission. The following link types are available:
Anyone with the link (previously called "anonymous access" or "shareable")
People in your organization with the link
People with existing access
Specific people
At least as a SharePoint Administrator, you may want to enable users to send "Anyone" links, but you may not want this to be the default type of link when users select to share files and folders. You can set the default type of link to something more restrictive, while still allowing users to select other types of links as needed. You can change this setting at the organization level and at the site (previously called "site collection") level.
Note
The default sharing link setting applies only to libraries that use the new experience. This setting does not affect Outlook Web App, Outlook 2016, or Office clients prior to Office 2016.
If you have Office 365 operated by 21Vianet (China), sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, then browse to the SharePoint admin center and open the Active sites page.
In the left column, click to select a site.
Select Sharing on the command bar.
Under Default sharing link type, clear the Same as organization-level setting checkbox.
Choose the default sharing link setting that you want to use for this site, and then select Save.
Note
To change the default link type for a Teams private or shared channel site, you must use the Set-SPOSite PowerShell cmdlet.
Use a sensitivity label to configure the default sharing link settings
If you are using sensitivity labels to classify and protect your SharePoint sites, you can also configure the default sharing link type and sharing link permissions for a site and also individual documents by using a sensitivity label.
In the left column, click to select a site. Select Sharing on the command bar. Under Default sharing link type, clear the Same as organization-level setting checkbox. Choose the default sharing link setting that you want to use for this site, and then select Save.
Change a site address in the new SharePoint admin center
To open the details panel, select the site name. On the General tab, under Site address, select Edit. Enter the new site address, and then select Save.
The default site collection is created for you automatically when you sign up for Office 365. You can see a default site collection by going to SharePoint Admin Center by following the instructions below (need to be a SharePoint or Global Admin for this):
On the Alternate Access Mappings page, click Edit Public URLs. On the Edit Public Zone URLs page, in the Default text box, type a new default zone URL that differs from the computer name of any front-end Web server, and then click Save.
Please go to Sub site -> Site settings -> Title, description, and logo under Look and Feel -> Web Site Address -> Change site URL of sub site. If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and kindly upvote it.

The root site is automatically provisioned and exists at the top of your SharePoint URL domain [https://[yourdomain].sharepoint.com]. Due to the simplicity of the SharePoint root site web address, many organisations look to make this their top intranet landing page.
To change the permission level for an individual or group, click the down arrow next to the SharePoint permission level for that person or group and select Full Control to add them to the Site owners group, or Read to add them to the Site visitors group.
To find your SharePoint URL, go to the course catalog page, check the web page URL, and search for the pattern catalog.sharepoint.com/. In the web page URL https://compafi464.sharepoint.com/sites/Academy/SitePages/CourseCatalog.aspx, the SharePoint URL is compafi464.sharepoint.com. Was this article helpful?
Option 1: Use Explorer View to Change the SharePoint list URL. Open the SharePoint site in Windows Explorer view, Find the Root folder of the list, and Rename the List/Library as you rename it in your local Windows machine's Explorer view! This renames the list web address as well.
Sharing links in Microsoft 365 are URLs that allow users to share files and folders stored in Microsoft 365, including files in SharePoint and OneDrive. These links can be used to grant access to documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other types of files.
Go to the Permissions page for the list, library, or survey using the steps in the previous section . In the Name list, select the checkbox next to the name of the user or group that you change permission levels for. Select Edit User Permissions .
Go to your SharePoint site www.mysite.sharepoint.com/sites/xyz. Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner and select "Site Settings." Under "Look and Feel," click on "Master Page." In the "Site Master Page" section, select "Specify a master page to be used by this site and all sites that inherit from it."
