Does CarLock drain your battery? ›

How does the CarLock device affect the car battery? The CarLock device has different power saving modes, so when the car is idle, it will consume only around 2mA. Even if your car is idle for a couple of weeks, there should be no problem.

CarLock Driving Score

It is represented with a number between 1-100 and tells you how smooth is your driving. The higher the score the smoother you are driving.

If your CarLock device is not sending data, first try to unplug/uninstall the unit, leave it out for a few hours or overnight, and then plug it back into the car. This should reset it.

Your credit score is a major factor in whether you'll be approved for a car loan. Some lenders use specialized credit scores, such as a FICO Auto Score. In general, you'll need at least prime credit, meaning a credit score of 661 or up, to get a loan at a good interest rate.

If you see the gray circle around the location of your vehicle, you will not receive any security notifications. Lock icon shows that location is not “locked” — CarLock is not armed. Gray = no security notifications.

What is the CarLock light on the dash? ›

Most modern cars have a dash light that indicates that the anti-theft system has been triggered. The icon for the anti-theft system looks like a car and a lock combination. When this light is on and flashing (it will be either or blue), it will indicate that your car's anti-theft system is activated.

One of the primary features of an anti-theft system is its ability to immobilize the vehicle's ignition. If the system is activated, turning the key or pressing the start button may result in an unresponsive ignition. The engine may not crank, or the vehicle may start but stall immediately.

Today's cars have all sorts of accessories that continue to draw a minimal amount of power from your car battery when you are not using it – clock, radio, GPS device, internal computer memory. An interlock (IID) draws about the same amount from your battery as the clock on your dash.

While most of the car alarms system that come from the vehicle's manufacturer will not cause the battery to drain prematurely, that's not always the case with aftermarket alarms. This is particularly true of alarms that have an “on” mode when the vehicle is stationary and turned off.
