Cash is widely accepted all over Walt Disney World at the theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and at Disney Springs. You may run into a few stands or kiosks that can only accept digital currency, like the carts that sell bubble wands and glow items or the balloon handlers. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can charge those things to your room folio account and then use your cash to pay off your balance at any time at the front desk.
I find that at some locations, it is more convenient to use a card for purchases, especially for Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering, where you can place your order ahead of time on the My Disney Experience mobile app instead of standing in line to place an order with a cashier. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you can use your cash to purchase a Disney gift card and then use your gift card to pay on the app. You can also use a Disney gift card to pay at those few locations that do not accept cash. Disney gift cards can be found in most gift shops.
