BCOM
BCOM provides broad-based exposure to commodities, and no single commodity or commodity sector dominates the index. Rather than being driven by micro-economic events affecting one commodity market or sector, the diversified commodity exposure of BCOM potentially reduces volatility in comparison with non-diversified commodity investments.
Bloomberg Enhanced Roll Yield Indices
A key concern for commodity investors is negative yield from the shape of futures’ curves, which contributes to return degradation over extended periods. Bloomberg addresses this concern with BERY, a broad-based, long-only commodity benchmark that extends the BCOM family, while incorporating aspects of risk-premia strategies. BERY diminishes the traditional trade-off between liquidity and performance by redefining the index weighting scheme and diversifying contract selection. Ultimately, BERY seeks to provide high capacity, mitigate the impact of negative carry and reduce roll congestion.
Bloomberg Energy & Metal Equal-Weighted Indices
The Bloomberg Energy & Metals Equal-Weighted Index family aims to track the performance of an equal-weighted basket of 12 energy and metal commodity futures contracts, including base and precious metals. The energy exposure is comprised of WTI crude oil, brent crude oil, low sulphur gas oil and natural gas, while the metal components are gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, zinc, nickel and aluminum.
Bloomberg Single Commodity & Agriculture Representative Indices
The Bloomberg Single Commodity & Agriculture Representative Indices are a family of financial benchmarks designed to track the performance of single commodity futures contracts, while embedding a novel protective feature: a zero floor on index levels.
Bloomberg Composite Gold Index
The Composite Gold Index is made up of liquid exchange-traded futures on gold, and iShares Gold Trust, reflecting the return of underlying price movements.
Bloomberg Carbon-Tilted Index
The BCOM Carbon-Tilted Index is designed to take into account carbon emissions associated with the production of the physical commodities comprising the flagship BCOM benchmark. Using Life Cycle Analysis, carbon emissions are measured and the weight of commodities with a lower carbon footprint is increased.
