There are over one hundred characters in Naruto, and some of them are not even human. The Tailed Beasts are nine colossal beings who are made up of pure chakra, and they all have the power to destroy a major ninja village with a single attack. These beings can be harmed by the most offensive jutsu, but there are only a handful of jutsu that can actually beat a Tailed Beast. Some of these jutsu can even temporarily kill a Tailed Beast.

The Tailed Beasts resemble animals, but they are all sentient beings with emotions. For most of the Ninja World's history they were used as weapons, and villages would seal them within ninja. If they or their Jinchuriki somehow die in battle, their chakra bodies will eventually re-form. Though the Tailed Beasts seem invulnerable, there are several jutsu that could take them down.

C4 Garuda was developed by Deidara of the Akatsuki. It was designed to counter the visual prowess of the Sharingan, and it has the ability to kill every living thing within a designated area. Someone with the Explosion Release kekkei genkai needs to add their explosive chakra to clay. They have to mold that clay in their mouth in order to create a colossal clay clone of themselves.

When that clone explodes, it creates thousands of microscopic bombs that are designed to be breathed in. If a Tailed Beast were to inhale these bombs, they would enter its bloodstream. Once these bombs are detonated, the Tailed Beast's body would disintegrate at a cellular level.

9 The Hell Stab Can Cut Through A Tailed Beast Like Butter

The 3rd Raikage is considered one of the strongest ninja in Naruto because he fought 10,000 ninja alone. He was also able to fight the Eight-Tails singlehandedly. He accomplished these feats because he could significantly enhance his physical abilities with Lightning Chakra Mode. While in this mode, he was able to use the Hell Stab Technique.

The Hell Stab was the 3rd Raikage's strongest jutsu, and it required him to concentrate a large amount of lightning chakra into the finger-tips of a single hand. The one-finger variant possesses the greatest piercing power, and he used it to cut off all of the Eight-Tails' tails at once. With this jutsu, someone like the 3rd Raikage can fight the Eight-Tails to a draw, which means that it should be able to take down the weaker Tailed Beasts.

The user creates a colossal samurai-like avatar with their chakra, and it moves on their behalf. The Susanoo protects the user, and each variant possesses incredible destructive power.

The power of a full-body Susanoo is comparable to that of a Tailed Beast. A single sword slash can destroy a mountain or alter an entire region. These swords should be able to pierce a Tailed Beast's body. Some Susanoo can perform ranged attacks that would be just as effective.

7 Wood Release: Wood Human Technique Is As Strong As The Nine-Tails

Wood Release is an extremely rare and powerful kekkei genkai, and it is one of the reasons Hashirama is still considered one of the strongest Hokage. Wood Release: Wood Human Technique was one of Hashirama's strongest jutsu, and he used it against Madara Uchiha.

The jutsu summons a massive wooden humanoid creature with an Oni face. It is usually accompanied by a wooden dragon that is wrapped around its body. This creature is said to be as strong as the complete Nine-Tails. It can literally catch a Tailed Beast Ball in its hand. A split Nine-Tails was able to fight several Tailed Beasts during the 4th Great Ninja War with Naruto's help, so this creature should be able to overpower the other Tailed Beasts.

6 Adamantine Sealing Chains Has Unbreakable Chakra Chains That Can Restrain A Tailed Beast

The Uzumaki Clan specialized in sealing jutsu, and they possess naturally strong life-forces. Certain clan members can use the Adamantine Sealing Chains – a unique sealing jutsu that creates large chains with the user's chakra. These chains typically emerge from the user's torso, and they can be used for offense as well.

When the Nine-Tails attacked the Leaf Village, Kushina used these chains to restrain him. The Nine-Tails was complete and at full power during the attack, but Kushina was still able to temporarily restrain him despite being close to death. At full power, the Adamantine Sealing Chains should be able to completely immobilize a Tailed Beast.

5 Indra's Arrow Combines The Power of A Susanoo With The Chakra Of Every Tailed Beast

Indra's Arrow is the strongest jutsu in Sasuke's arsenal, and it has the power to destroy a small region with a single attack. In order to use this jutsu, someone like Sasuke needs to summon a full-body Susanoo, and they must then absorb chakra from all nine Tailed Beasts. In doing so, the Susanoo can create a large bow and an even larger arrow.

Sasuke was only able to use this jutsu because he trapped all of the Tailed Beasts with his Rinnegan. Since Indra's Arrow uses the power of every Tailed Beast, a single shot would likely destroy a Tailed Beast's body.

4 Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique Can Restrain A Tailed Beast & Absorb Its Chakra

• Has been used by Hashirama Senju, Madara Uchiha & Obito Uchiha.

Hashirama was able to capture most of the Tailed Beasts by himself because he was able to use the Wood Dragon Technique. Like its name suggests, this jutsu allows the user to create a gigantic wooden dragon. It is meant to restrain large opponents, but it can also be used for offense.

This dragon can restrain a Tailed Beast with ease, and it will absorb the Tailed Beast's chakra until they have no strength left. The chakra absorption will not work if the dragon's head is destroyed because it needs to bite the Tailed Beast like a vampire.

3 Amaterasu Cannot Be Extinguished & Causes Immense Damage

Amaterasu is another jutsu that can only be used by someone who has awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan. It produces black flames at the focal point of the user's vision. The flames appear almost instantaneously, so they are almost impossible to dodge.

Itachi used Amaterasu to beat the 4th Mizukage – a perfect Jinchuriki, and Sasuke used Amaterasu to take down Killer B when he fully transformed into the Eight-Tails. Amaterasu will continue to burn until the target is incinerated or if the user extinguishes the flames themselves. Amaterasu's flames can be absorbed, but none of the Tailed Beasts can absorb ninjutsu.

2 Particle Style: Atomic Dismantling Jutsu Can Disintegrate Anything With Three-Dimensional Objects

The Tailed Beasts are made of chakra, but they still have physical bodies, which means that they can be destroyed by the Atomic Dismantling Jutsu. A Particle Style user can create three-dimensional objects with this jutsu, and they can throw these objects towards their enemy.

These objects move incredibly fast, and they will expand as soon as they reach their target. Everything within the expanded object gets disintegrated at a molecular level. The Atomic Dismantling Jutsu can permanently maim a Tailed Beast, and it can take one down if the user targets a Tailed Beast's head or chest.

1 Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands Can Defeat A Tailed Beast Clad In Susanoo Armor

• Classified as Kekkei Genkai, Sage, Ninjutsu.
• Has been used by Hashirama Senju & Indra Otsutsuki.

Hashirama used Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands against Madara during their final fight. After entering Sage Mode, the caster uses Wood Release to create a titanic wooden Buddha statue. Thousands of wooden hands sprout from the statue's back.

The statue dwarfs the Nine-Tails in size – to the point that it is almost impossible to land a direct hit on the user. It can easily grab a Tailed Beast and hold it in place. The hands can deliver a barrage of powerful strikes that can overwhelm and defeat the Nine-Tails even when he is covered in Susanoo armor.
