Baby Shark's Big Movie! (titled 아기상어 극장판: 사이렌 스톤의 비밀 (Baby Shark the Movie: The Secret of the Siren Stone) in Korean) is a 2D-animated film based on Baby Shark's Big Show!, that premiered on Paramount+ in December 8, 2023.^[4]

Synopsis[]

Baby Shark is forced to leave the world he loves behind after his family’s move to the big city, and must adjust to his new life without his best friend, William. When Baby Shark encounters an evil popstar starfish named Stariana who plans to steal his gift of song in order to dominate all underwater music, he must team up with ENHYPEN to break her spell to restore harmony to the seas.

Plot[]

Act 1: A pop starfish with a hidden side[]

It begins by showing the official video of the recently popular song by a starfish called Stariana, after the presentation, from a Lance Bass television show, the high popularity that she is having is confirmed. After that she meets in the dressing room with Gillie, his personal assistant and best friend and celebrates that she is about to be the catchiest fish in the sea, then proceeds to use a special bubble to confirm if it is true, unfortunately, the bubble reveals to her that the catchiest fish in the sea is neither more nor less than Ollie Brooklyn Baby Shark, causing her displeasure and considering it unfair, in addition to revealing that according to a legend, the catchiest fish in the sea is the one that has a star mark on it. Dissatisfied with the popularity that she is having, she relates that she began her existence as an ordinary starfish stuck on a rock while the time passed and the worst thing is that she has an eternal irritation for the Baby's very song and then she swore to show the world that she should be that catchiest fish and everyfishy will only listen to her song. To achieve this, she only has to obtain an ancient treasure from the seven seas called the Siren Stone, a gem that has a magic that hypnotizes any type of fish, replacing their musical spirits with that of the wearer herself. Therefore, she will execute a master plan to make her evil dream come true once and for all.

Act 2: The odyssey of a fin-ship[]

Meanwhile, Baby Shark was singing on his way through his beloved home, Carnivore Cove, and it sees that all the inhabitants respect, admire and love him, although right now they are being fascinated by the new song "It's Stariana!". Baby prefers to ignore it and continues on his way to reunite with his best friend William and they plan to spend the day making a pair of bracelets that represent their infinite fin-ship and to give more excitement, make their odyssey on a half-dangerous mountain.

Along the way, they sing about their unbreakable relationship while gathering materials to make their bracelets. Without further ado, they manage to complete their task and proceed to make their oath to always be the best of friends, putting their bracelets on each other and making their secret fin-shake impromptu. Happy to mark their oath of fin-ship, they are going to celebrate with a "After-song snackies".

Act 3: The “Fin-tastic” new of a mother and the imminent departure[]

Baby Shark returns home as William accompanies him and they notice the shark family abducted by the song "It's Stariana!". After noticing their presence, they decide to take a break, Mommy and Daddy Shark are going to give Baby some fantastic news, while Grandma and Grandpa Shark will leave them alone and Baby prefers that William also hears the news. Then, Mommy Shark announces that she received a call from Stariana and she offers her to be the Chomp City's new entertainment director of and it's absolute happiness for the whole family since it's an opportunity to go to hundreds of massive events in the city, and as the first massive event to be presented, it is nothing more nor less than a new annual edition of the Chomptacular, so Baby and William are excited about it since it's the most famous annual concert in the city and the best stars will come to perform (and for best, ENHYPEN will be there this edition), but suddenly she says that to have her new job, she must move to the city and for Baby to go with her while Daddy Shark also accompanies them, making the two of them sad because it means that they must separate and it is not enough for them to be visiting or blackmailing each other and to make matters worse, William is just two days away from his birthday. As it is a huge saddenes, William decides to cancel their After-song snackis and returns to his house and in the process Baby is also saddened by the bad sign that their fin-ship will have.

During the last dinner of the shark family at their home, Daddy Shark tries to encourage Baby that it is an opportunity for him as a dentist since he will be a new worker for the idol of his profession, Dr. Sawtooth, although he confirms that this is HIS dream, then Mommy Shark says that until she gets their own residence, they are going to stay with a friend of hers named Leah Lanternshark, who have not seen each other in a long time. However, Baby refuses to move because he will miss everything he already had in his life, especially his best friend, and if he leaves, William could have new adventures and fin-ships of his own, removing Baby from his life, but Grandpa Shark tells him that this cannot happen since a friendship as great as theirs cannot end due to some physical circ*mstance that would affect them.

The next morning they begin to prepare to start the move, although the mother finds out that Baby had hidden William. To try to comfort each other, Baby starts saying that they don't have to worry and that they will always be friends because of the oath they made. Minutes after taking the luggage on the way to the other residence, Baby says goodbye to his grandparents one last time and then gives William an early birthday gift: a pair of tickets to the Chomptacular, a gift that Stariana has sent to the mother. To cheer themselves up, Baby tells William that when the day comes, they can be front row to watch the show and even accompany ENHYPEN on the stage. They say a deep goodbye one last time and without further ado, Baby and her parents leave. From afar, Grandma and Grandpa Shark have something on their hands and they intend to execute it right now. Already leaving through the currents of the sea and guided by an APP called Waterways, they are on their way to their new residence, although they suffer several setbacks along the way and visit different places by mistake, but finally they arrive at the Chomp City, the great capital of a thousand and a type of sharks.

Act 4: Welcome to the Chomp City, the great capital of the sharks[]

When Baby and his parents have arrived, they are excited that everything will become different in their lives for the better, although Baby is bothered by the general behavior of the inhabitants. While at the station they were waiting for the friend that Mommy Shark talks so much about and out of nowhere, her very friend Leah Lantershark finds them, giving them a surprise entrance. She is so elated to see her again after so long, she recognizes the father wherever he goes and then she is moved by Baby's presence and the fact that she will be her aunt, then she introduces him to her little daughter Lannie and Baby is fascinated by her. Then, to get them settled, Leah and Lannie give them a tour of the city to get to know it and show that there are many species of different sharks and other fishes.

A couple of hours later, Leah and Lannie take them to their home, which is a huge apartment, Baby tries to settle in while Leah is happy to have her friend back and that everything will be different now and Daddy Shark manages to have the opportunity to work for the Dr. Sawtooth. Later, Lannie tells Baby that she will share her room together and is excited that they can be best friends, but he tells her that he already has his own, but he will have no problem with it being roommates and the first day ends with Baby notices that Lannie is talking in her sleep and her lights turn on uncontrollably, a warning that she had already been given to him.

Act 5: The second day of the new life[]

A new day begins in the city, just 25 days before the show, Stariana was sure that her master plan is working (implying that she hired Mommy Shark just to bring Baby to the city and so he would be closer to her) and that when she has the ancestral treasure, all that remains is to snatch the star mark from Baby, becoming unstoppable, while, she was waiting for Gillie to find out where it is and waiting for Mommy Shark to get to work to avoid raising suspicions. Right now, Mommy Shark is going to her new job and trusts Leah to take good care of her son, although Leah wanted her spend some time together. To spend the day, Leah takes Baby and Lannie to a racing attraction and they have fun right away. Meahwhile, Mommy Shark arrives at her new job, specifically the stage of the Chomptacular and suddenly Gillie and Stariana are waiting for her and are happy that she has arrived. Stariana tells Mommy Shark that she really wants to meet her son while she thanks her for giving him and her friend William to oportunity to see the Chomptacular and reunite with ENHYPEN.

Back at the racing attraction, to keep Lannie company, Baby invites her to do their own secret high-fin, everything was in relative order, but Baby finds out that William is already celebrating his birthday. William was celebrating his party birthday already (along with his mother, Vola, Chucks, Goldie and Hank), he then receives a video call from Baby and wishes him a nice party, however, Baby notices that he is being morally displaced and that the friendship they had was already fading just as he feared, although he must pretend to be in front of Leah and Lannie so that they don't notice his sadness. What he did not know is that William does miss him from the heart, so his mother consoles him that no distance can break his fin-ship. Meanwhile, it's shown that Grandma and Grandpa Shark transformed the shark residence into some sort of massive party clubhouse for seniors.

At night in the Leah and Lannie's apartament, Baby is in his homesick state, so Leah talks to him, as a result of his stubbornness, Leah asks him for his star mark to promise to give him the opportunity to adapt to the city, he accepts it and his mother agrees, relieved for it. Along the way, she sees that Daddy Shark is getting ready intensely to go to his new job with the intention of impressing to Dr. Sawtooth. Meanwhile, Stariana was on her way thorugh a dark forest way of Chomp City in search of the Siren Stone and thanks to Gille's research, she managed to find it in a kind of temple, proceeded to remove it from its pedestal and succeeded, she put it to the test and it worked perfectly, making her happy the process. Now she only has to wait for the day to arrive, so she can begin her evil reign. Minutes later, a mysterious dark purple beluga learns of the stone's absence and becomes worried.

Act 6: Passing time for a certain promise to keep[]

Starting the third day, Baby Shark prepares to fulfill that promise by touring the city, he will take advantage of the moment to get to know it and as time passes, he finds himself adapted to the different activities and social behavior of the inhabitants.

Act 7: The day of all the jaw-some days BEGINS[]

Finally, the day of the Chomptacular arrives, so Baby prepares for William's visit and Daddy Shark goes with him, although he has a feeling that their fin-ship will feel differently, but Daddy Shark assures him that it will not be like that. Meanwhile, William prepares to go to the event that he has been waiting for so long and even though he suffered the same setbacks due to being guided by the APP Waterways, he manages to get to the Chomp City. Just right now Baby reunites with William and they give their secret fin-shake like old times, although they are somewhat orthodox. On the way back to the apartment, William liked a store in town, Baby tries to give a joke to William, but he is fascinated by him, so Baby gets a bad feeling.

Meanwhile, the Chomptacular's Red Carpet of the show is taking place, where special guests and famous singers are arriving to start the event. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the light and sound tests, Stariana begins to sing, just to activate the power of the Siren Stone as a test of her power and that ends up causing many show workers, including Mommy Shark, to be controlled, the spectators of the red carpet also end up being controlled and also Lance Bass. Stariana feels an euphoria from the perfect functioning of the Siren Stone and shows confidence that all the fishes will be under her spell very soon.

Act 8: The hurtful break-up of a Fin-ship[]

Returning to the apartment, William was meeting him and meets Lannie, however, I feel discomfort about the bond that Baby is having with her, but to let it go, he and Baby think about what to do in those last two hours that remain to wait, but Suddenly, they find that they are out of sync in their thinking, but in the end they plan to be ready when the Chomptacular starts and go to practice their dance moves.

Then Baby invites him to eat a pizza while they rest briefly, but she has to try it the right way. Then, William asks him if he likes the city and in order not to break his promise to Leah, he tells her a white lie affirming that question, but suddenly, Baby accidentally tells him "I might even make new friends here", something offensive to William. and in order not to have that pain, he tells him a white lie that he will also have his own adventures and fin-ships, and which ends up causing a severe argument and William leaves the city and asks him to return the tickets, and to top it all off for Baby, he gets rid of her bracelet in front of him (before leaving, William picked up that bracelet), making it clear that they are no longer friends. Because of the greatest pain they have suffered, they begin to sing about loneliness and that they would give anything to go back to how they were before because they feel sad because of the argument they had and that they stopped being friends because of the distance.

Act 9: The ultimatum of the pop starfish supervillain[]

Meanwhile, Stariana is excited that the entire sea will be under her feet and only the last step is left to complete her master plan: using the special bubble to spy on Baby, she realizes that he isn't going to the Chomptacular (while tearing up the tickets and throws them away), causing her to become frustrated that her plan is falling apart and she doesn't even consider it a good idea to search for him throughout the city. However, Gillie sees William on the monitor passing through the crowd looking for the way to the station and then suggests her to involve him so that Baby changes her mind, cheering her up on the spot. William was already lost because he couldn't use the application and without further ado Stariana arrives to hypnotize him with her magic and she will use him as bait.

An hour later, Baby was on his walk to reflect, but then notices that many citizens were behaving as if they were strange followers, and then arrives with the wallet of the city (also enchanted), she gave him a package with a kind of hologram message from Stariana: it shows him that she had fish-napped his friend and if he wants him to free him, he must come to the show and give him his star mark and the power of the song (although Gillie accidentally mentions the Siren Stone), causing him a horror. Then, Baby decides that she has to stop her and save William by ending her magic with other music, so he will go to the Chomptacular, just to ask ENHYPEN for help and thus face Stariana.

While Stariana is preparing to the Chomptacular and waiting for him, she hypnotizes Daddy Shark when he’s asking Mommy Shark for help of his business and then he is noticing something weird in her.

Act 10: Sneaking into the Chomptacular[]

Act 11: A popular boy band with a secret meets the catchiest fish in the sea[]

ENHYPEN were at a rehearsal before the show and their dinner just arrived to recover a little, but when they lifted the golden dome, they were surprised by Baby on top of the dinner and without further ado he vents his enormous excitement at finally seeing them in person, when they ask him if he needs something, he affirms it and begins to tell them that he is in trouble regarding the true being of Stariana, she fish-napped William and mentions the Siren Stone and that it is the cause that many fish in the city have become strange followers of her and that is why he needs their help to stop her.

At first, Baby thinks it sounds ridiculous, but the band notices his star mark and then they reveal a huge secret: they aren't just a group of singers, they're also an elite group that protects the harmony of music through from the confines of the sea. They tell him that they were guarding the Siren Stone and that one day they found out that it was stolen (implying that that mysterious dark purple beluga was actually Ni-Ki) and that with it Stariana will steal the music from the souls of all the fishes and only hers will be there. They also tell him that he is looking for the star mark because according to the legend of the catchiest fish in the sea, the bearer has the greatest music ever seen and if Stariana snatches it, she will be unstoppable; that's why she came up with the idea of ​​fish-napping William.

Then, Baby notices that Stariana did all this thanks to him, so he sobs about William's condition and regrets having been his friend so he wouldn't have any fight and wouldn't be in trouble either. However, ENHYPEN lectures him by clarifying that it is normal that the fin-ship changes as time passes, that there will be moments in which they distance themselves and then reconcile, the relationship doesn't have to be perfect to demonstrate it; as they really love and care about each other, nothing and no fishy will be able to put an end to them since fin-ship conquers everything and that of Baby and William will be a clear example of this; if there is something more powerful than music, it is nothing more nor less than a solemn full-fledged fin-ship.

Now, Baby feels better to find that they are right, and so he and ENHYPEN prepare to begin the rescue mission and stop Stariana once and for all.

Act 12: The musical final battle for the fate of the 7 seas[]

Minutes before the show begins, Baby meets with Stariana, as she learns of ENHYPEN's presence only to have them stop their plans but refuses to refrain from her actions despite Baby trying to reason with her and without further ado launches an attack from the Mermaid Stone. Baby dodged it, but ENHYPEN ended up subdued. Afterwards, Stariana brings William, hoping that the deal will be accepted. Due to the stone's volatility, the deal is called off, and she goes to start the concert with William as her companion, but Baby changes her mind out of fear of losing him forever. Stariana frees William and then uses the stone to take the star mark, weakening him on the spot, while William witnesses the atrocity. Stariana undergoes an immense transformation while William evacuates the stage with Baby.

As the concert begins, Stariana scatters the Siren Stone to all the inhabitants of the Chomp City and then to the rest of the sea, causing every fish to end up controlled by it (Gillie begins to have a bad feeling about it). Backstage, William begs Baby to sing to stop her, but he is too weak to do so. Then, William sings for him to motivate him, nothing works, but he tries again after putting the bracelet on his arm and surprisingly Baby regains his energy and both begin to sing in public to save the seven seas (after freeing Mommy and Daddy Shark, they accompany them). Stariana finds out about her interference and a musical fight begins, but since the Baby's song is being better, Stariana despairs and not even Gillie is willing to help her. Proving that fin-ship is more powerful, reverses Stariana's transformation, the star mark returns to Baby and in her desperation, Stariana accidentally breaks the Siren Stone and its explosion exiles her from the city. The seven seas and their fish return to normal and the entire group celebrates salvation.

Acts 13 and Final: A wonderful victory ~ Back to home[]

Once the danger has passed and the 7 seas have been saved, Baby Shark and William apologize for the offenses they have made and reconcile, then the following happens:

• Dr. Sawtooth contacts Daddy Shark to announce her impression of his dental cleaning, and out of his excitement, he asks her for an autograph.
• ENHYPEN had to leave for a new mission, so Baby and William thank them for their help.
• Mommy Shark and Leah maintain their fin-ship.
• An unbreakable trinity of fin-ship is formed between Baby, William and Lannie and they go to celebrate.

The next morning, Baby Shark, William, Mommy Shark and Daddy Shark return home and everyone is happy for their return, although they notice what Grandpa Shark and Grandma Shark have done in the house, so Mommy Shark proceeds to reproach them, but in an unexpected turn, they act indifferent and resume the party and in the process and Baby Shark, William, Mommy Shark and Daddy Shark joins to the celebration.

• Ashley Tisdale, who voices Stariana in this film, is famously known for voicing Candace Flynn in the Phineas and Ferb animated series.
• This is the second time where Sharki B, Offshark and Kulture Sharki appears, but this being with Wavey Shark.

• This is the second time where William gets hypnotized by the antagonist, this being by Stariana.

• When Stariana asks her magic bubble who’s the catchiest fish in the sea it’s a reference to Snow White’s evil stepmother asking her magic mirror who’s the fairest of them all is from the Brothers Grimm fairytale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
• This film reveals the following:
  • The star mark on Baby Shark's cheek means that he's the catchiest fish in the sea.
  • Mommy Shark has a friend named Leah Lantern Shark, and they use to be in a yacht rock group.
  • Daddy Shark's real name is Gerald.
• This film takes place about the course of a month as seen when Baby Shark crosses off each day on his calendar.
• This is the first time where Baby Shark and William got into an argument.
• During the plot, a couple of scenes are shown where it demonstrate the function of the certain object, but in the scene where Stariana obtains it, its type of use is as a staff since the object has a thick stick embedded below in it.
• In the storyboard, William was originally the one who takes off his fin-ship bracelet before swimming off after his and Baby Shark's argument. But in the final cut, it was changed to Baby Shark doing so^[5].
• Also in the storyboard, the boy band that was originally gonna be in the film was BTS, until it was changed to ENHYPEN^[5].
• In the song "Dive On In", one of the shark actresses look like the cats from the 1981 musical with the same name.

Errors[]

• Baby Shark doesn't take his bracelet off when he gets on the top bunk bed. But when he buries himself under the plushies, his bracelet disappears.
• At William's birthday party, the birthday cake has four candles. But when it's sliced into five pieces, each piece has a candle, showing that there are five candles.
• When William arrives at Chomp City, he puts his shell phone away. But after he bumps into the red hammerhead shark, his phone reappears in his left fin.
• During the song "Oceans Apart", when Baby Shark is looking through the pizza restaurant window, his star mark, which is on his left cheek, is on his right cheek through his reflection.
• In the scene where Daddy Shark meets Stariana, while looking for Mommy Shark for help, there was an error as to which side of his tail is the one that is splintered.
• In the Chomptacular's Day and in the beginning of the song "It's My Ocean", a light brown shark with darker parts of its spine appears three times, the first among the other spectators of the Chomptacular's red carpet, the second among the other spectators of the Chomptacular and the third in the Chomp City's pizza restaurant.
