The classic and strange Generation 1 Pokémon is present in the popular mobile catching game, but it does not appear in its regular form. Instead, Ditto lives up to its shapeshifting reputation and actually hides behind disguises of certain Pokémon. How To Find More Ditto In Pokémon GO
You can increase your chances of finding Ditto in Pokémon GO by boosting your base chance of encountering the aforementioned creatures. According to Game Rant, Ditto has a 1 in 50 chance of spawning under the guise of another Pokémon. To improve the odds of finding one, you need to target the guises, as one can be Ditto.
This can be done through simple methods, such as using Lure Module on nearby PokéStops and Gyms that you will remain close to for a while. Additionally, you can also cast an Incense on yourself, as this will trigger the spawn of more Pokémon, which can be the ones used by Ditto.
Don’t forget to use your Daily Adventure Incense. The only requirement for this to work is that you move around to trigger more spawns. The item can be activated from the regular map page rather than in the inventory.
Ditto can also occasionally be found by completing special research tasks and research breakthroughs in Pokémon GO. It is, however, currently uncertain if the Gen 1 creature will be featured as a reward for the completion of these quests in November 2023. This means it has a much better chance of coming in its alternate blue coloring. The issue with this is that finding Ditto alone is already difficult, so you need to stack up the odds of finding it among its disguises and then add the Shiny rate as a modifier.
If you encounter any of Ditto’s disguises as Shiny, such as a Shiny Snubbull, that Pokémon is not a Ditto. Ditto will only appear as the regular form of the aforementioned creatures.
Essentially, you have a 1 in 50 chance of finding a Ditto when disguised and, if encountered, you then have a 1 in 64 chance of it being Shiny. The odds of it being Shiny are pretty good, so long as you get past the initial struggle of actually encountering the Pokémon itself.
