Are abus padlocks good? ›

A Restricted padlock is one that uses a specific key which is extremely difficult to copy and or one which has a key unique to a specific lock or suite of locks and no other lock will have the same key number.

The Best Chain Has Hexagonal or Square Links

A heavy-duty, hardened steel chain with hexagonal links thwarts nearly every thief with a bolt cutter. Hexagonal links (or square or trapezoidal) make it impossible for bolt cutters to get a grip.

Abloy Protec2 PL 330 Padlock

What padlock has keys that Cannot be duplicated? ›

A restricted keyway lock is designed to prevent unauthorized duplication of keys. Most of these locks utilize a key that is controlled by one specific locksmith and also requires you to be on a signature card in order to have keys copied.

A restricted key is a key with uncommon broaching (a non standard profile) which will only be replicated by the original locksmith, with the expressed consent of the client. This is to ensure unwanted duplicates can't be made by disgruntled employees, axe-grinding former partners, or the dreaded jilted ex!

Grade one is the highest performance, followed by grades two and three. The ANSI/BHMA grading system is useful for ensuring the most appropriate hardware is specified for each application. The expected usage and necessary security for the installation should be considered when deciding which grade will be needed.

Grade 1 locks offer the most robust security features and are typically used in commercial settings or high-security residential applications. Grade 2 locks balance security and affordability for most homes, while Grade 3 locks are basic models suitable for interior doors or areas with minimal security concerns.

I say easier because ABUS usually have special security pins called spool pins inside the lock to make them harder to pick, so they are certainly not easy to pick but I wouldn't say they are really difficult either. If you can tell us a model number we can tell you more.
