Abstract
This chapter analyzes the unique character features of con artists and their victims. These features are different from other people and can explain some of the causes of unusual behavior. It observes the tendency of con artists and some of their victims to become addicted to the scheme, which highlights the narcissistic character disorder and lack of empathy of con artists. It also examines the character traits and behavior of victims, their gullibility, inclination to risk taking, and need for feeling special.
