90% of Divorces Are Initiated By Educated Women? — Steemit (1)

This feels shocking at first site:

Moreover, in some of the states where no-fault divorce was introduced, over 70 percent of the divorce filings were by women. Among college-educated couples, the percentage of divorces initiated by wives is a whopping 90 percent.

There's one slight issue with this statement: women tend to initiate divorce more than men in all relationships outside of even college-educated couples. In the US, it ranges between 65-70% in a given year. People may feel shocked at the 90% statistic, though it makes sense if we consider that a person who's educated has more options than a person who is uneducated, so the person may feel they can exit a bad relationship. Another point that we must consider is:

Women usually have a strong emotional support network of friends. By the time she decides to move on, she has already discussed the situation and has mourned the end of the relationship. so the actions tend to be far more final.

If we recall our college experience, we know that college offers a great time to build an emotional support network. Women are more likely to go to college, so they increase their emotional support network. I feel these reasons cover why we see 90% of divorces in educated couples being initiated by women, what are your thoughts?
