Unless you're a permanent homeschooler, there's a good chance that when you moved into your current residence you hadn't given much thought to where you were going to put a homeschool room. But if your child is one of millions of students starting the year learning, at least part time, from home, you're probably thinking pretty hard right now about where to stage a remote classroom.
Whether you're looking around a small apartment for good spot to set up a laptop, or you're planning on turning a guest room into a full-blown classroom, there are plenty of ideas out there for distance learning spaces that are fun, smart, and creative. Carve out a corner

Not everyone has the space for a homeschool room, but a homeschool corner works just as well. Blogger Lydia Louise created this space for her daughter with a folding table, essential school supplies, and storage boxes labeled for each day's work.

If you have to make room in your house for school, why not make it a space you and your kids love? Blogger Laura Godfrey turned an area off the family's kitchen into a stylish homeschool room with a built-in desk, shelving to hold each child's work, and a fun wallpaper find from Serena & Lily.
Use what you have
Adding form and function to a homeschool space doesn't have to be expensive. Here, Jess from HashtagBigFamily used a can of paint and a bookcase she got for free to create a cute and accessible spot to store blocks and homeschool art supplies.

This simple distance learning setup from Chelsea Waldroup is small enough to work in almost any space. To recreate it, pull a chair up to a DIY wall shelf and add a pegboard alongside it to hold everything from artwork to school supplies.
Don't forget your child's room
Think you can't possibly squeeze out a space for your child to learn from home? Think again. Your child's room is already all about them, so why not create a workspace there? It's private, personal, and creates a dedicated school zone that's separate from the rest of the house. Substitute leaning shelves for desks
Kid-sized desks are a hot commodity right now. If you can't get your hands on one, or you're working with a small space, opt for multitasking wall shelves, like the ones seen here, instead. Design firm Maison Ellie created this compact but effective homeschool space for two young girls using only leaning wall shelves from IKEA.
