Why would you want a job that lets you make your own schedule? Maybe you’re a caregiver who needs flexibility to take your loved one to medical appointments. Or, you might be smack dab in the middle of the sandwich generation, providing care for both your parents and your kiddos. You might even be a full-time student, studying to get that degree and take your career to the next level. Perhaps you simply want a morning job.
Whatever the reason, you’re not alone! More people are quitting inflexible jobs at a fast pace. Our survey indicates that the number of people quitting a job because of flexibility issues nearly doubled from 17% in 2014 to 30% in 2019.

1. Consultant
Consultants allow people to share their experience and knowledge with others to better their lives and business practices. They often utilize tools like job shadowing, surveys, and interpersonal studies to determine the source of any problems so that they may suggest solutions and provide training or coaching. Consultants are often freelancers or hired on a short-term project basis, allowing them to choose their own hours.
2. Data Entry
Data entry professionals play an important role in organizations by ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of large amounts of information and data. Data entry jobs involve entering data into a computer system or secure file system. Due to the independent nature of the job, data entry workers can often create their own schedules and work when best suits their lives.
3. Editor/Proofreader
Editors and proofreaders have a good eye for detail, grammar, and spelling. They work to improve the written word and provide feedback to writers. Many times, editor/proofreader jobs have flexible hours and can be done from any location, as long as deadlines are met.
